About the Exit Planning Institute
The Exit Planning Institute (“EPI” or the “Institute”) is an association of
professional business advisors providing exit planning services for business owners. The Exit Planning Institute
leads the exit planning profession by setting the highest standards of education, ethics, and professional excellence
for advisors in the exit planning field.
As the baby boomer generation retires, one out of every two businesses is expected to change hands
during the next 15 years. This represents a transfer of more than $10 trillion in wealth.

tools and skills needed to immediately begin delivering exit planning services to clients.

CEPA status receive a license to use and apply the
Institute’s proprietary client deliverables, including questionnaires, report templates, excel templates,
marketing materials, etc.
A Level of Membership That’s Right for You
The Institute offers four levels of membership;
Each level of membership is specifically designed to meet the needs of professionals with different levels of interest
and involvement in the field of exit planning.
Credentialed membership is for professionals
who have received the CEPA certification.
Candidate membership is for professionals who are pursuing
the CEPA certification.
General membership is designed for professionals who do not intend to pursue
the CEPA certification, but who still want to access all of the rersources EPI offers.
Academic membership is for full-time university students and/or
professionals who are employed at recognized colleges or univeristies.
