Exit Planning Deliverables
Credentialed members receive a license to use EPI’s proprietary exit planning products at no
additional charge. These exit planning templates enable Certified Exit Planning Advisors
to immediately offer exit planning services to clients.
The following exit planning products are available to Credentialed Members.
Express Business Valuation
Without a good sense of the value of a business, all other exit planning decisions become flawed.
This market-based business valuation process provides owners and their advisors with an accurate sense of the
highest price they can expect for their business, the optimal financial structure for a sale, and how much seller financing (if any) is required to make the transaction work.
The final report is 20+ pages including 6 pages of narrative and 14 pages of financial exhibits.
(BVX valuation software is recommended but not included.)
The Next Adventure -
A Retirement Satisfaction Predictor
For most entrepreneurs, letting go of a business is the hardest part of the exit process. The Next
Adventure – Predicting Retirement Satisfaction for Business Owners helps entrepreneurs understand if they
are psychologically prepared to exit their business and enjoy retirement.
This report provides business owners with a complete assessment of their attitudes about seven key
areas, such as personal identity, need for interaction with others, financial security, and others.
This 10-page report describes the key drivers of retirement satisfaction and includes the owner’s
responses to 36 questions, as well as a table illustrating potential areas of dissatisfaction.
The Keep or Sell Test
Knowing when to keep a business and when to sell it is one of the keys to a successful exit strategy.
Unfortunately, many business owners sell for the wrong reasons and at the wrong time. The results can be catastrophic.
This comprehensive assessment examines more than two dozen factors that influence whether to keep or
sell a business. This is an essential component of any business owner’s exit plan.
The final report is 12 pages and includes a “report card” detailing how the subject
company ranks on each of the factors influencing whether or not it’s a good time to sell.
